Street Preaching

Today we really got stuck into a day full of ministry. In the morning we went seeking recruits for VBS at Faith Baptist Church. Then it was back to the church for lunch after which we were joined by a group from Baptist College of Ministry. They are travelling all over the North Eastern States singing together.

After getting acquainted with each other we headed over to an area in Queens called Richmond Hills. This is an area which is predominately Muslim and Hindu. It was a really good experience and the Lord blessed as several thousand people passed the venue for the open air - there were 3 major bus stops and the end of a subway line located right beside our chosen venue.
The weather stayed pretty good apart from one 15 min shower. We prayed hard during this time as to hold the open air with PA equipment we had purchased a $45 permit. God answered and we were able to continue with the meeting which lasted almost two hours in total.
Praise the Lord that we can testify of one soul coming to trust the Lord as his Savior. Please pray that he will join himself with a local church and continue to grow in the Lord.
Tomorrow we head off on our 2 day sight-seeing trip in Manhattan and the surrounding areas. After a week of orientation it will be a welcome relief. Being the only major sight-seeing days planned for the summer we look forward to 2 days of a relaxed mood and good 'craic' as we say at home. Pray for us that the weather will stay good and the Lord will prepare both our hearts to minister for Him in Yonkers as we head there first thing on Saturday morning.
